We've had several visits from MB Hydro over the past few years and every time that Polly Bergen comes to visit and talk about the opportunities at MB Hydro students are interested in what she has to say. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's a great public speak (a great speaker to try to emulate!), but the main reason is that MB Hydro has so much to offer.
Of course, one of the things that people want to know about most is the Health coverage. MB Hydro has a great coverage plan that includes:
- Dental
- Prescription Drug
- Vision Care
- Health Spending Account
- Travel Health Coverage
- Other Health Benefits including ambulance and physiotherapy
That is just the beginning of benefits for employees. They also have excellent work/life balance programs that make it easy for employees to remember that having a life outside of work is a good thing and even encouraged!
The other thing that I think is great about MB Hydro is that they are very interested in seeing their employees build and develop their skills. They encourage employees to always be learning by offering:
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Educational Leave
- Professional Development Support
- Mentorship Program
- Extensive Internal Training Courses and Certifications
- External Training Support
...and you know what all that means right? It means that employees move forwards and upwards at MB Hydro!

Today we had the pleasure of having a visitor from Myers Norris Penny, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, visit Robertson College. Allister Penner, the senior manager of assurance service was an enthusiastic speaker and really seemed to enjoy telling us about the opportunities that are going to be available to people like our students who have a strong bookkeeping background.
While MNP has customers as their main focus, they are not able to do this if their employees are not happy as well and that is why they give team members the support they need to reach their full potential. They are proud to be a company that has been built on values and work-life balance is an important part of that. They believe that having fun at work is not only possible but something that should happen! They believe in not only helping people to reach their goals but also to discover them and branch out. Michelle Tillet (the instructor for the Accounting & Payroll Adminstration course) and myself (Danielle McGaw, Administrative Professional and Bookkeeping course) took the opportunity to speak to potential students as well. We both love our jobs and we love what we teach so talking about our courses is always enjoyable to us!
Having speakers from local business come to speak to current students and future students is something we do as often as possible. If you'd like to learn more about our Administrative programs and be contacted next time we have a speaker please CLICK HERE! Fill out the form (and don't forget to tell them you came from the Admin Professional blog!) and someone will contact you as soon as possible.
